Packing & shipping your media

A critical part of any data recovery process is ensuring that the drive is properly packed and shipped. Make sure that the drive is well packaged with plenty of foam and or packing materials. Always wrap the drive in bubble-wrap so that if the drive settles it will not be sitting un-protected at the bottom of the box. Otherwise the drive could shift in transit causing additional damage. |

| Step 1 - Remove or have a qualified technician remove the hard drive from your computer. | Step 2 - Place the drive in an anti-static bag or ziplock bag to avoid possible further damage from static electricity. |

| Step 3 - Package the drive with at least 2-3 inches of packing on all sides. We recommend using foam, bubble wrap, packing peanuts or newspapers to help avoid shock or shifting during shipping. | Step 4 - Fill out and include the paperwork or any RMA number provided by our support staff. Be sure to print clearly both inside and outside of the box. |
